The iron hulled vessel, Vamar, built in 1919 for the British Admiralty, traveled as far as Antarctica before finding its way to Florida. The vessel now rests 4 miles off shore of Mexico Beach after sinking under suspicious circumstances. This vessel represents one of the many aspects of Florida’s maritime history.
